Very disappointed. Our rating is 1 for the room and 5+ for the dining room and staff. Room was musty from old smoke could hardly stay there. It needs a lot of TLC. No view. Went for breakfast which we found a little late as most travellers are gone before then. But, it was fantastic. We had the pleasure of speaking with a very sweet gal and let us know the rooms are being renovated. There is a new owner and they have done a five star make over of their restaurant and bars. We will definitely come back for a meal and a renovated room. I am sure this owner will make the Inn a treasure of Gravenhurst.
Beautiful situation. I chose it for the outdoor view. Unfortunately, weather kept us indoors, which was also nice but had cleared by dessert which we were able to enjoy outside. The food was lovely and the service attentive. Lovely evening, altogether.
This place definitely still needs a lot of work to get it back to a restored quality. I could list a lot of things that could be improved or repaired. That said it is quaint, the old Inn has charm truly worthy of restoration. The staff is amazingly friendly and accommodating. The highlight of Inn at the Falls in my opinion is the dinning. My expectations for dining at the Inn were not high but I was blown away by the quality of the cuisine, it is without a doubt first class. The two story Mahaffy Room is a worth while upgrade. The Inn has a perfect location for walking the main strip in Bracebridge but is far enough off the strip to be tranquil and relaxing. Overall I am happy to recommend the Inn at the Falls.
It's a historic building, don't expect too many modern features such as efficient a/c and an elevator. We had a remote for the TV, but it was only good for changing channels and volume, power on and off has to be done manually. We noticed that although the building was very old and that a coat of paint or minor repairs are needed here and there, it's very clean everywhere. Very nice views and landscape. We were three for only one night so their policy of housekeeping only after the third night did not bother us. Within that period, if you need fresh towels or linen, we must contact the front desk, but it's not attended 24/7. Every staff member I spoke to was super nice and friendly.
After three visits since Mother's Day, and tonight on Labour Day, I have only positive things to say about the inventive menu. My local trout from nearby Milford Bay was beautifully presented. Our daughter's risotto was perfection. And my wife's traditional beef tenderloin was cooked exactly as she'd asked. Service can be somewhat slow, but who cares when you're looking out from high over the Muskoka River.
